The problem
Where clarity was needed.
New users had to select ‘Forgot password’ to register. People managing multiple businesses had to log out to switch accounts. I redesigned these flows and the dashboard to make access and everyday tasks clearer.
What informed the redesign
Support feedback, analytics, and input from local BBB experts pointed to three areas of friction:
- getting into the portal
- finding the right next action
- managing multiple businesses
Four decisions that shaped the experience
- 01
Give registration its own path
A password-recovery link didn’t communicate account creation. I separated registration from sign-in so new users could start without having to interpret an unexpected entry point.
- 02
Switch businesses without starting over
I introduced business switching within the signed-in session and kept the active business name and ID visible. Users could move between accounts while retaining a clear sense of which business they were managing.
- 03
Make everyday tasks easier to find
I brought billing reminders, profile updates, and frequently used tools into the dashboard hierarchy. Quick links supported routine tasks, while profile completion showed what information still needed attention.
- 04
Connect urgent issues to an action
I organized Business Integrity Check issues by severity and paired them with next steps. The aim was to help users understand both the importance of an issue and how to address it.
